Many people have asked what they can do to help while we wait (and wait) for word on when we will be forced to move the horses from their home.  Your donation can help with the many expenses faced by the vulnerable senior horses in our care.  Please help us help them.  Donations are NOT tax deductible but are greatly appreciated as we try to protect these wonderful horses in their golden years.  Every little bit helps but if you cannot afford to donate please keep them and us in your prayers.  Thank you for your help during this incredibly difficult time.
Save a Senior

April is a 35 year old chestnut Quarter Horse mare. She was born in Seymour, Iowa and registered with AQHA as "Secos Tuff Tiena". She arrived at Woodlawn Stables in April 1987 and since she was also born in April, the name stuck. As a school horse she taught, literally, thousands of students to ride over her 23 year career. She has always been the consummate professional and took her responsibilities very seriously. She was the perfect group leader as she would walk, trot and halt on the instructor's voice command. In her later years she taught only children's beginner lessons and retired completely in 2010.
